Wednesday 21st
September 2016
Weather continues to be kind with an expected top of 21° with a little high
cloud.
After a big day of travelling yesterday we had a sleep in and a
leisurely breakfast.
Our hosts Jim & Eileen have hired a medium size 7 seat SUV and have
kindly offered to be our tour guides for the next 4 days.
We set off at 10:30 for the beautiful town of Fougeres, which was about
2 hours away in Brittany. The town is lovely and has an excellently preserved
medieval castle.
We spent some time walking round the town before having lunch in a crepe
restaurant, (yep still eating our way round Europe) which was very good.
After lunch we walked round Fougeres Castle. The views from the top of
the castle wall were fantastic.
We got back to Le Tuileries about 6:00pm. Had a pre dinner drink and the
Eileen served dinner.
After dinner Jim brought out his collection of brandy’s & whiskeys.
He had Tomintin Whiskey, which was excellent so I had 2, and then we headed to
bed as we have an early start in the morning.
