Two weeks since leaving home and today we start chapter 2 of our journey through Europe.

Weather was a very hot 28° with clear blue sky although there was a slight breeze.

We had late checkout from the hotel. It was great to be able to have a bit off a sleep in and a later breakfast before checking out. Left our luggage with Concierge and walked along the river to check where our River Cruise ship was moored. Back at the hotel we collect our luggage and decided to gat a taxi to the ship as although it was only a short walk, dragging bags along cobble stone pathways would not have been good for the bags or us.

Boarded our Evergreen River Cruise ship “Emerald Sun” around 2:00pm. This will be our home for the next two weeks.

After a light lunch we were shown to our State Room. It was great to unpack and put the bags away for the next 2 weeks. Cruise Director Jana & Hotel Manager Robert did the welcome session including safety video. This was followed by entertainment provided by a traditional Hungarian band and dancers. AS I was sitting near the front I had to get up and do the Hungarian Hankie & Hat dance. Lynne has some video of my performance.

After lovely buffet dinner in the Dining room was followed by a cruise up and down the river under the many bridges and past historic buildings that were all lit up.
